AITSL (Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership) is een uitstekend voorbeeld hoe opleiden en professionaliseren van leraren kan omkaderd worden door één agentschap opgericht door de overheid. Recent publiceerden ze hun meerjaren strategisch plan 2017-2020 met een voorwoord door prof. John Hattie, voorzitter van AITSL. Een citaat uit het voorwoord:

Bijvoorbeeld ‘Supervising Preservice Teachers’ is een interactief en zelfgestuurd online leerprogramma om mentoren en opleiders te ondersteunen in de ontwikkeling van hun kennis, vaardigheden en vertrouwen om effectief leraren in opleiding te coachen.
